Staged Migration & Administrator Mailbox

Guys

I have performed a staged migration all 66 users have migrated across fine however I have put the administrator account on premise in the OU in active directory so that it syncs to Office 365 however it does not appear.

How do you migrate the administrator account and mailbox for Office 365 using staged migration this is the last account to do before I swap my mx record and decommission the on premise set-up ?

Thanks

Global Administrator can't open resource mailbox

New account. I created a Conference Room resource and invited it to a meeting. When I try to access the mailbox to share the calendar so every one can see it, I get a screen stating I (as Global Administrator) do not have permission.

Is there a flag I need to set for this account?

Way to identify DL membership for a user on a large email using embedded DL's?

Is there a tool a user can run to identify why they are receiving a particular mail?

We use some specific DL's at work with a number of other embedded DL's, so it can get a bit messy.

We often receive requests from users to be removed from the status mails being sent, but there is no easy way to determine why they are receiving the mail in the first place.

Believe there was an internal tool at msft called "whyme" or something, but not sure if there is an external option somewhere.

thank you

Office 365 exchange email not being accepted by one of our vendors

I just got all set up with our unique domain, and everything is working , except all emails to one specific company domain we send to (multiple email addresses) we get the following error:

Unable to deliver message to: <xxxx@xxxx.com> Delivery failed for the following reason:

Timed out while establishing SMTP connection with server2.xxxxx.com[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]

This has been a temporary failure. We will attempt to deliver this message every 1 hours until it succeeds or the message becomes older than 5 days.

This company was able to receive our emails under the same domain previously before our updating of the servers and MX records.

Can anyone advise what could be the issue?

Thanks,

Michael

Syncing

I am new to Office 365.  Professionals executed the set-up.  My question is: when I add an Outlook event on my PC, it is not showing up on my phone.  How does the syncing process work?  Is there a refresh process that exchanges the information from one source to another?  Thanks!

Office365 / Exchange Online / Export PST file from Outlook 2013 client.

Hello, I'm hoping someone here can help me. I am trying to archive my 2014 year of emails using Outlook 2013 that is connected to my O365 email account. The issue is that not all my messages are archived into the file. The one I just ran only backed up through October 2014. I notice while looking through the Inbox and folders that Outlook seems to cache a certain amount of messages then pulls from Exchange Online as I go further back (I see the link "Click Here to View More on the Exchange Server"). Is there a way force Outlook to download the entire mailbox? I do not wish to use the Online Archiving option either as we want to store these PST files on our server.

Thank you,

Jason

spam is automatically deleted or does not appear in spam/junk folder

I signed up for something online and was supposed to get a confirming email but it never came.  I have a Spam folder and a Junk folder (not sure why I have both) and they are always empty so it wasn't there. I looked on my phone and there it was, marked as spam. I do want suspected spam to go in my spam folder, but not to disappear! There's are too many false positives.

In fact, I bought plane tickets and the confirmation from Delta didn't come because it was marked as spam (on my phone). I had to get it from my web host's webmail.

Older Calendar Appointments are missing with O365 users

Hello All,

We are currently in the middle of a migration from 2007 to O365. Recently, we came up with lot of ticket saying that 'Calendar items are missing'.

Upon investigating we found that, all the users that were migrated had their 'appointments' missing. We are seeing the recurring meetings, but any non-reccuring items are missing.

We verified that the retention policy in place does not allow expiry (as it is set to unlimited). Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Send email on behalf of a group is not working

  1. I have set up a group SeniorPartners@... to which I have added the senior partners in the company.  I am added as a user that has authorization to send on behalf of the group.  This is working for myself.  I recently added a different user to allow this individual to also send on behalf of the SeniorPartners@... however she is not offered the option to 'show from' when sending an email.  I am not sure what else to do in order to have the 2nd user be able to send on behalf of the group as her name has been added in all the same places as mine.
  2. I set up a second group in the same manner with the same parameters for a group called Partners@..... I was also able to send on behalf of this group.  However, I have since removed the ability to send 'on behalf' of this group from my user account as it isn't necessary any longer, except that when I am sending email I am still offered the option to send from SeniorPartners@ as well as Partners@ even though access through the group exchange properties has been removed.
  3. I have a new group that I have tried to set up Reply@ in the same manner as the groups noted above.  All the settings are the same.  I am unable to send from this address.

The Senior Partners group and exchange properties have been set up and working for some time.

I'd just like to understand why I can still send on behalf of a group for which my user id does not have permission to do so and why other users are not able to send on behalf of the group when they have been given permission.  Initially it appears to be very inconsistent.

Please advice.

Thanks,

Karen

I have tried in Chrome and IE, both do not work.
Firefox is the only browser able to open it correctly without errors.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Outlook client keeps asking for a password

I have about 300 users around the world.  Since Thursday afternoon Jan 22, 2015, all Office 365 users are reporting that Outlook Client keeps asking for passwords. Does not happen on web page logins, does not happen if they VPN to my network first (hybrid environment).  Also does not happen when on-campus.  But happens to everyone attempting to connect via Outlook when off-site.   If they leave the password blank, and keep clicking cancel several times, it allows access and works. I opened MS support ticket, so far they are clueless.  MS tech wants me to rebuild profiles, but that doesn't make any sense. Tried it anyway, no luck,

Can't fill out address in mailbox features > delivery options to forward email

I need to forward email for a departed user.  In the Exchange admin center > recipients > mailboxes > edit user > mailbox features > Mail Flow > View details > Enable forwarding > Forward email to the following recipient: I can't enter an email address manually, nor if I browse for an address and select it will it fill in the field.

Doesn't work from IE11 on W8.1 or W7.  If I try to save it with the checkbox ticked for enabling forwarding, it errors and says the field is required, but it won't let me enter any address.

In Chrome, I can't manually enter an address but can browse and select one, which enters the user name rather than his address, although when I try to save it, that also errors, says to fix the highlighted issues but doesn't actually show anything highlighted.

Is there somewhere elsewhere in Exchange admin center that forwarding capabilities can be affected?  It seems like maybe it's not allowed...?

Bulk email sending problems

Hi guys,

We have a business where we send emails in bulk to our customers. I'd like to spotlight and emphasize that these emails are OPT-IN, we are not spamming or sending unsolicited emails.  These customers want and expect our emails.  They're getting angry and we're losing business because our emails are not being received.  We're getting the following error message (that's not the real IP) when sending to customers whose email is hosted with Office365.

Client host [123.123.123.123] blocked using FBLW15

I've googled around and based on what I read, I should engage delist@messaging.microsoft.com which I have.  Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and was able to rectify it?  Should we do anything else?

Hi,

We would like to include social media icons in our signature.  How do we go about doing this?  We have tried to copy and paste the pictures with not much success (to then hyperlink to correct web page).  We have also tried drag and drop.  There is no insert image icon to do it this way.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks.

404 Error when loading "Mailbox" for SharePoint Online 2013

Hello,

My team and I just recently set up a SharePoint Online 2013 account. In the process of setting up our teamsite, we added the app "Mailbox" in order to set up our outlook account with the teamsite. However, whenever we click on "Mailbox" it redirects to a HTTP 404 page not found error. We haven't even had the opportunity to set email preferences, and so we're not sure what is going wrong.

[I'm using IE 11]

I appreciate any help!

Thanks

Do not want texts and calendar from phone sync in email, just email

How do I un-sync phone text messages and my phone calendar from my 365 email?  I want to use the email from my phone, but I do not want all of my personal calendar and personal texts showing up in my company's calendar and emails.  I use my personal phone for the company I work for, they do not provide one.  How do I separate the sync of my phone texts and calendar?? Every text I receive and every event I put in my phone calendar is shared in Office 365 with my company.  I only want my email shared and events I put in the calendar while on the website for 365....sorry for all the wordiness...

I have an Android phone.  I have tried going into the settings and playing with "un-syncing" these two items specifically, to no avail...It seems that if I sync the email that everything else automatically goes with it....PLEASE HELP!!
