How long does it take a new proxy address on an existing account to start receiving email?

Hello,

I have Office 365 federated with my on-premise AD.  I am trying to figure out how long it takes for a new alias entered into the ProxyAddresses field to start receiving email and if there is a way to speed up this process.

I create the new proxy address, sync my domain, run dirsync, then verify the new alias shows up as an email address on the account/group from the Office365 Exchange Admin console.  The issue at that point is that any email sent to that address will bounce as invalid for as long as a day.

Is there something I can do to force this to update?

Any help will be appreciated.

Migrated mailbox not picking office365 settings in Outlook

I have a hybrid environment.  I did a migration of a mailbox to Office365 and Outlook is still trying to connect to the on-premise server.  When using the test E-mail AutoConfiguration in Outlook it sees the Office365 information so Autodiscover is working correctly.  However, the connection status in Outlook 2013 shows that Outlook is trying to connect to the on-premise server.  OWA is working for the account just fine with Office365.  I'd like to avoid having to create new profiles for the entire organization.

Office 365 Group Can not accept outside email

I have created an office group on Office 365 OWA.  I have set it up to Let people outside the organization email the group, but when I someone outside the organization email the group they get a bounce back.

For example:

The group is named KB@domain.com.  I send an email from my @gmail.com and it will not work.  I get a bounce back.   I can only email it from @domain.com.

I do have the Let people outside the organization email the group checked.

Also another item I noticed in the Admin>Groups under any of the groups that have been created they show @domain.onmicrosoft.com.

Thanks for any help.

Remote Server returned '550 5.1.8 Access denied, spam abuse detected'

Hi Folks,

I'm sending SMTP messages and receiving a '550 5.1.8 Access denied, spam abuse detected' message.

My issue is most likely similar to these threads:  Remote Server returned '550 5.1.8 Access denied, spam abuse detected' or this http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/t/289740.aspx.  The conclusion from those and other threads is that either our IP is blocked or the sender domain is blocked by EOP.

It seems Mr. Johnny Zhang, MSFT support, has addressed many of these issues. Could I ask you investigate ours as well?

Thanks,

Russ

Too many emails from calendar invites

I am using Office365 online and I am continuously disappointed with the execution of calendar invites. I edit and change attendees regularly on calendar invites and even though the option to "send only to added or removed" comes up, it does not work. Everyone on the calendar invite list, is reblasted with emails and it is frustrating for me as the sender, as well as the recipients who continue to get these calendar invites that they do not need resent. Please help me reduce the number of emails sent out when adding/removing attendees.

thanks

Deleted discovery search will not remove from Discovery Mailbox

A discovery search was deleted in O365 EAC, however the search folder in the Discovery Mailbox will not delete.
The Discovery Mailbox is created. I have access permissions to it in Outlook desktop client. I tried to delete manually, but it will not.  The results items start to move to Deleted Items folder and then they reappear.

Any suggestions to get rid of this search folder and all its contents?

I only have 5 users and the only thing important is the email messages in the old mailboxes that I want to move over to the new ones.

Missing Emails After PST Import

$

Hello,

My company recently converted email servers from Lotus Notes Domino server to Exchange Online with Outlook 2013, and in doing so we exported and converted our NSF files from Lotus Notes into PST files, using the Export Notes program. The conversion, while bumpy, was ultimately successful, however we have had problems importing the PST files. We are able to import the PST files, and most emails/folders come through with no problems, attachments and dates are correct, but we have seemingly random emails missing (I'd guess 10-20% of the total emails failed to import). When we open the PST file without importing the missing emails are there, so the issue seems to lie with the importing function. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a reason some emails would fail to import, despite being in the PST file, or of any programs or add-ins that could help import only missing messages.

Some extra notes: PST file sizes range from 500MB to 15GB, and the problem seems more frequent on larger and older files. Trying to import while selecting "Do not import duplicates" hasn't worked in some cases, so we'd like to avoid re-importing all the PST files. Please let me know if you need additional details or suggestions.

Thank you for the help.

IMAP Migration from Google Apps seems stalled?

I have an IMAP migration set up from Google Apps.  One user seems to have stalled.  New emails come in from the Google Apps inbox every night, but no other emails are being synced.  The "All mail" folder last synced on January 6th and has not been updated since.  A couple of other folders updated on January 10th but nothing since.  I tried stopping and restarting the migration task, and I tried completely removing it and adding it back in.  Still no folders are syncing, only the inbox.  I need to get all of the emails from Google's server sync'd into Office 365 if we're going to use the Office 365 service.

Please advise on how to troubleshoot and fix this issue with the Exchange incoming migration.

Migration of Shared Calendar in Lotus Notes

Good afternoon, folks.

I'm currently in the midst of a Lotus Notes to Office 365 migration and a user brought to my attention that they have a shared calendar in Lotus Notes that they need to bring over to Exchange.  I'm wondering what the best approach would be for this.  Not sure what other information I'll need to provide so please ask.

Thanks.

Printing from the portal/OWA crashes Xerox print controller

We first encountered this last week only for Office 365 emails.

It happens with all our Kyrocera, Xerox, Dell and HP printers.

When using the Browser File, Print option it sends an illegal/malformed? print job that actually takes our printers offline. They stay offline until phyically restarted even if the print job is canceled.  No other print jobs can happen until this is deleted and the printer is physically restarted.

The fun part is as soon as the printer comes online the job resends and it takes our printers offline again.  Took forever to find one of the offending print jobs and delete it because it was a locally installed print driver printing directly to the IP address. We had to check every computer to find it.

Browser File, Print is death for the printers.  If you use the "three dots ... print" it prints fine or if you right click on the email and choose print it also works.  This is a work-around not a fix.

Our machines are all current with Windows 7 pro, automatic windows updates and Browser is IE 11.0.9600.17501 update 11.0.15.

Error message on Dell printer display is 016-302 restart printer.

We have been using Office 365 for about a year and this is a new problem.  It showed up about the time the menus along the top bar changed to the "my apps" square.  Or possibly it was an update related to IE or .net?

Microsoft please let us know when this has been restored to full function.  Currently I sent an email to all my users to not use the Browser print function.  Remember quality keeps customers from looking at other options.

Security group edits

I have created several security groups within Office 365 and set the owner for each group.  However, when trying to edit the members for these groups after the groups are created I get an error as you see below.  Any fix for this?  I have logged in as the global admin and the owner of the group with the same results.  Thanks.

--You don't have sufficient permissions.  This operation can only be performed by a manager of the group.

Additional Formatting to Quick Steps

In Outlook 2013, you can create a Quick Step to perform actions (create an email, Add a Subject Line, Add a CC, etc.  One of the areas is to add "Text" in the Text or message area.  For example, I have the following text:

PLEASE REPLY ALL TO THIS EMAIL AND INCLUDE THE SUBJECT INTACT FOR YOUR REPLY.  THANKS!

I would like it in BOLD and RED  so it would look like and a portion underlined  and the enter text centered in the email.  So it would look like:

PLEASE REPLY ALL TO THIS EMAIL AND INCLUDE THE SUBJECT INTACT FOR YOUR REPLY.  THANKS!

I've tried HTML coding but no luck.  Any ideas would most welcomed.  Thanks.

Forwarding emails without activating Mailbox

$

Hi

I would like help setting up email forwarding for my users whom do not have the Exchange Online license applied to them, and, therefore, do not have an active mailbox.

I can setup the email forwarding for these users with no problem when the license is applied and their mailbox is active. However, once I remove the Exchange Online license from the user, the emails are no longer forwarded. I would like help forcing these forwarding rules to apply, even after I remove the Exchange License.

Reason for removing the Exchange License: I would like users not to have the options to use their Outlook, Calendar, People, etc. I just need them to receive a message when I share something with them, or give them permissions to a certain page/site.

I tried following the steps posted here (http://community.office365.com/en-us/w/exchange/2191.how-to-forward-email-in-office-365.aspx) under OPTION 2, but the forwarding does not persist after license is removed.

Another solution that may work is if there's a way to Remove the options for users to access Outlook, Calendar, Tasks, etc., while still having the license applied to the users.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Forwarding emails from an alias

I need help configuring the following to work...I want to set up a reply-to email address for customers..."Customer Service@companyinfo.com."

I set up a new customer service email address as a contact in People. I then created an inbox rule so that when messages are sent to this email address, they are forwarded to me/others in a distribution list. In testing this, from an outside/personal email address, I received the following error message:

Your message couldn’t be delivered because the address you’re sending to needs to know who you are before it'll let your message through.

To fix this problem, contact the recipient (by phone or instant messaging, for example) and tell them to ask their email admin to configure the recipient’s mailbox to accept messages from you.

For Email Administrators
This error occurs when the recipient's mailbox is configured to reject email from anonymous users. To fix the issue, either add the sender's address to the allow list for the mailbox or turn off the mailbox setting that rejects email from anonymous senders.

For more information, see DSN 5.7.12 Errors in Exchange Online and Office 365.

Thank you.

Email forwarding to Office 365 from another domain

Hiya,

I have just started with Office 365 so there is a lot to learn :-)

I have email that is directly forwarded from an address@a.com to an address@b.com the mail is sent from a.com to b.com but it is not received and no NDR is received back to a.com either. a.com is a ISP based mail forwarding and b.com is the Office 365 domain.

Now I thought that perhaps email forwarding was broken so I forwarded address@a.com to address@hotmail.com and this worked fine with out error. All the addresses that were set to forward to b.com fail.

any help suggestions and pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Conference room question b/t Exchange 2010 and Office 365

We are running in hybrid mode b/t Exchange 2010 SP3 and Office 365 E3 plan.  One of the largest complaints we've seen has to do with resource rooms/conference room calendars.  All the conference rooms still sit in the on-premise exchange environment and people who have moved to Office 365 can see a room is booked but can't see the details behind the booking.  Users still on-premise don't have this issue.  The conf room mailboxes are configured as Room Mailboxes on Exchange 2010.  I searched online but can't find a solution to his problem.  has anyone who has come across this issue found a way to resolve this?
