Hi there
I am having an issue with my university webmail account, which uses Office 365.
My lab partner has sent me some photographs and diagrams that I really need for a lab report, but they aren't appearing in my received email. The pictures appear with a broken picture icon in Chrome, and a black box with a white cross in the top left corner in Internet Explorer.
I tried searching through different possible scenarios from the internet generally, and from Microsoft, but have not found any problem that is quite like this.
Here is what I have tried so far:
- Adding her as a trusted sender - Office 365/Outlook gives me a message saying "The sender is internal to your organisation and cannot be added to the Safe Senders list. Emails from senders in your organisation will never be treated as junk mail."
- Right clicking and saving the pictures - they try to save as an .ASPX file. I downloaded one and renamed it to .JPEG; it worked as an image file however there was no picture to be seen.
- Opening the links in a new tab - I received an error message telling me that links have been blocked for my safety (or words to that effect). It says "Link Disabled" on the tab description.
I've also tried going through settings, options, viewing original message, forwarding (seems silly but just in case it magically made it work!)... I think I've tried just about everything. It seems my options are more limited than an actual Hotmail/Outlook account proper - I've got Hotmail for my personal account and I must say I find the Office 365 web app (not sure if it's called that but I'm not sure how to describe it) very bland, and at the same time, very user unfriendly, as contradictory as that sounds.
If anyone can give me some input or advice on the issue, it would be much appreciated.
I apologise if this question has been asked before, but as I say, I have only been able to find help for Office 365/Outlook/old versions of Outlook and not for educational institution webmail which uses Office 365. I hope the distinction is clear and that everything makes sense.
If screenshots are required I'll add them as needed. If any points need clarified, please let me know.
Many thanks.
