Exchange Client connection problems

Ever since the upgrade to 365, I have had complaints about spotty connection problems from most of our users and when they are using their Exchange client outlook from their desktop.  The message is "trying to connect" for long periods of time and you may or may not be successful.  We also have users that come through a terminal server and they usually get timed out and get a server unavailable message.  Any tips or help available please?
