Contact Sharing "This sharing message is not valid"

I have to be able to share distribution groups for the entire origination, and since Sharepoint will only share contacts, we don't want these in our GAL, the only other option I can see is to share them from an account.  Therefore I created a 'resourceAccount' imported the contacts and DIZ lists, and shared them, to 1 other user for testing.  A 'Sharing invitation' is sent, but there is a message in the email stating "This sharing message is not valid.  All action buttons have been disabled'

I'm kinda at a loss.  I did my research before posting, but could not find anything helpfull.
