Failed to initialize the messaging subsystem

I am getting this message about a week after installing Office365 on a machine with Windows 7 Professional:

"Failed to initialize the messaging subsystem"

Does anybody know what this means and what to do about it?

Outlook still seems to load if you crash it out and restart but I assume it should not be there.
