Hey,
I am currently running the Office 365 trial and testing various features to see if it is a viable service for my business.
I use Panda Security Cloud Protection for my local antivirus and email filtering. Currently I am trying to configure the email filtering service with Exchange Online. I have it working for outgoing mail but not incoming and seem to be getting some bounce backs.
A bit of background first. I have configured my domain ics-electronics.com with Office 365 as a available domain as much as I can with my current domain provider (1&1). I checked that Exchange Online was working with my new domain, once satisfied I decided to bring Panda into the picture.
I changed the domain ics-electronics.com with 1&1 to point to pandas servers, next added the mx record from the domain configuration on Office 365 and to Panda so it could redirect mail to Exchange Online.
I created a inbound connector as a partner with opportunistic TLS restricted by IP Address. In the "*Domains" field I added *.pandasecurity.com and in the "*IP Addresses" field I added 92.54.22.0/24 the IP range given to me by panda.
I also created a outbound connector as a partner with opportunistic TLS and routed the traffic through the smart host "smtp.mep.pandasecurity.com". I set the option to use CBR and created a rule to route all messages through the outbound connector.
Outbound mail is working but inbound mail is not. When sending a email to james365@ics-electronics.com I get a bounce back from Panda with the following error:
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
host icselectronics-com0i.mail.protection.outlook.com [213.199.154.87]:
554 5.4.6 Hop count exceeded - possible mail loop
Is this a problem with my configuration on the inbound connector? Or is there an authentication issue with Panda and the Exchange Online servers?
Thanks.
James
