Hello, I have a number of LOB devices which send email to users both within and outside of my organisation. The majority of them do not support TLS and cannot send directly to my O365 organisation using an O365 account.
I have been experimenting with using an on premises SMTP relay (running on Server 2003 std SP2) to forward mail to my O365 organisation and have had mixed success. I am able to do the simple setup with KB2799338 and can forward mail from any email address at the client to any address in my organisation. However, since I need to send mail outside I have been trying KB2600912 but I am unsuccessful.
I notice that the instructions in KB2600912 are geared for Server 2008, and specifically mention certain features needing to be enabled that I'm not sure exist in Server 2003.
Can someone verify that I can achieve the outcome of KB2600912 using a Server 2003 std. SP2 machine as my relay server?
