From reading the Office 365 documentation we understand that retention period for items in the Recoverable Items folder is supposed to be 14 days. We have confirmed this to be 14 days by running Get-Mailbox <Name> | FL RetainDeletedItemsFor in powershell. However, when we open the list of deleted items to recover we see messages in the list that have been deleted as far as 37 days ago. Even accounting for the 7 days needed for the Managed Folder Assistant, this is more than we expected to see. Are we missing something or is this expected behavior? BTW, we do not have any in-place holds on the account.
