Configure onsite SharePoint 2010 to use office 365 email

I have an onsite 2010 SharePoint site, and am trying to get the email settings to work for the site so I can have my SharePoint send out emails in regards to permission changes and workflows. Currently I get back from my workflows. That my email settings are incorrect.

I tried following these steps to see if I could get it working but something is still not working. My workflows can't send emails out.
