Using both O365 and current email provider?

I've run into a bit of a pickle in terms of our 365 migration. Our email is currently being hosted by our web host and now as we switch to Office 365 we want to keep our DNS hosted with our current web host. I've looked into some guides on how to do that; and that part is fine. Where my problem comes in is with our current email. We have a bunch of "automated" email addresses that aren't for a specific user but are used for certain database tools, for example; alarms@ourcompany.com.

My question is: Can I switch all of our users email addresses to Office 365 and leave the "automated" email addresses 'as-is' by adding the MX records for O365 on our hosting provider and leaving one old MX record as a lower priority or something?

Basically I need to find a way to keep these "automated" email addresses functioning without needing to pay for an entire O365 monthly subscription for each of these "automated" email addresses with no users attached.

Any ideas?
