Online Archive for a Shared Mailbox doesn't show up

I have about 20 users that all access a shared mailbox.  This shared mailbox is in addition to their own mailbox.  We use Dirsync to sync AD groups and users to Office 365.  So to give users access to the shared mailbox, I created a security group and gave that group full access to the mailbox.  This allows the users to add the shared mailbox by "opening additional mailboxes" in outlook.  All of this works fine.

Now, the shared mailbox was getting rather large so we purchased an exchange license for the mailbox and now instead of a 5gb limit, we have 25.  Again, no problem, works fine.  To make things a little cleaner, I turned on the person online archive for this shared mailbox.  Ok, after a day or so to sync the policies, now we have an archive that has lots of mail in it.  All this works fine.

Here is where the issue comes in.  If I grant a user full access permissions to the shared mailbox directly, then exchange auto loads the shared mailbox into that users folder.  It also loads the online archive.  But, if I just stick with having a security group added with full access, then the user can't see the online archive.  By design, exchange won't auto load the shared mailbox if permissions aren't assigned directly to the user.  This isn't a problem since as long as the user is a member of the group, they just go to their account settings and open the additional mailbox.  But doing it this way doesn't give them the corresponding online archive.

So, anyone know why?
