I remember a few years ago moving customer from BPOS back to local Exchange. One of the issues? The fucking nightmare that is getting Exchange Online to work properly within Outlook.
So today I'm evaluating Exchange Online and trying to be the good Microsoft Partner and good Cloud Essentials Partner and use their services so I can better sell them.
Great. So I setup Office 365 with my domain, check with the setup on Office 365 - yep, mail settings all OK.
Open Outlook, fresh profile, give the correct settings for the autoconfigure... Windows Security Prompt!
Try what is the correct username/password that logs me into Office365 with the account, select remember, select everything correct... Nope.
This is MICROSOFT Outlook. I'm trying to connect MICROSOFT Office 365. FOR FUCKS SAKE even my fucking IMAP Cpanel account can fucking work via autodiscover without this fuckery.
The DNS Settings are there and working, the account details are correct, but still something not working.
THIS SHOULD NEVER FUCKING HAPPEN. IT SHOULD JUST WORK. IT SHOULDNT EVER *** UP LIKE THIS. IM SO FUCKING ANGRY FOR WASTING MONTHS STUDYING YOUR FUCKING *** MICROSOFT.

Ok, So I try to figure this out. I shouldn't fucking do it, I should cut my fucking losses and sell the customer Google Apps and put their email there - even their fucking autodiscover Just Works in Outlook.
So the advice, after reading through literally a dozen pages linking on and on to the actual information about this is there's still some fuckassery client bullshit to install. So I download the only installer under the client install whatever downloads section under Office365. Just starts fucking installing Office 2013 to my PC... Without telling me it is. Without ASKING WFUCKING WHERE TO ISNTALL. WITHOUT AN OPTION TO FUCKING CANCEL. It's installing to my 40gb SSD... Without any fucking choice. WHAT???!?!?
