Hello,
We have a client who uses Office 2010. Their office uses one, large shared calendar to which everyone has complete access in order to facilitate easy assignment of resources (rooms, time slots for interviews, etc). The symptoms are as follows:
When sitting on the Mail tab in the Outlook client, everything is fine. It's responsive and everything. As soon as someone clicks on the Calendar tab, to switch to Calendar view, Outlook will freeze up and give the Windows Spinning Wheel O' Death for anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, or simply crash completely.
I have ruled out any add-ins that are installed (there are no 3rd party add-ins as it is), and I have replicated the problem both in the Web App and my local Outlook application as well (I'm on Office 2013). So the problem appears to be specifically tied to their shared calendar.
I have tried opening the Calendar in a separate window and having it left open to see if this resolves the problem, but it does not. I have also tried only downloading Headers, but this also does not resolve anything. Finally, I have archived all entries over 1 year old in an effort to reduce the size of the calendar itself, and it was cut down by almost 80% when I did this, but the problem persists.
So, does anyone have an idea as to what could be causing this, or have a solution offhand?
Any help would be appreciated since our client has been dealing with this for close to 3 months now and is getting agitated that it has not been resolved yet.
Many thanks.
