How do I send out an email using bbc? When I compose an email, click on bbc and type in members (our group membership) it will not come up?

When I compose an email to be sent out to a group (i.e. Members) the program will not connect to "groups" and will NOT allow me to put the Members group in as a bbc. Help. Our members do not want everyone to have their email address. HELP
