We migrated over to Office 365 service and upgraded from Office 2003/2007/2010 to Office 2013 over the last few weeks. I'm having an issue with 1 user who is using Outlook 2013. Outlook continues to crash upon loading. I've done the following:
1.) Rebuild OST/PST - Did not resolve
2.) Re-installed Office - Did not resolve
3.) Setup Outlook with and without cached mode - Did not resolve
4.) Created Outlook 2013 profile for user on another machine - Did not resolve. Outlook crashed on other system with same generic error
Finally, I noticed Outlook was crashing when updating the "Deleted Items" folder. On a hunch, I logged in to OWA and cleared the deleted items folder. To my surprise, when I logged back in to Outlook, it did not crash. This leads me to believe something in the deleted items folder was causing Outlook to crash. This has happened two or three times over the last few weeks and I cannot figure out why or what I need to do to prevent this.
Does anyone have any idea on why I need to clear my Deleted Items folder to stop Outlook from crashing? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
Note: I also setup this user with a profile in Outlook 2010 and it did not crash. This issue is related to Outlook 2013 only.
