Is there a reason Microsoft outlook does not work with gnupg openpgp certificates? I am curious. Also, what is the best way to do it then?

Office 365 and invites sent to external users

We are currently piloting Office 365 hopefully leading up to a larger role out. One pilot user has complained that when he sends invitations to meeting to people out side the organisation they do not get these is a useful form.

 

From testing what seems to happen is they get the invitations as blank messages. Except with an ics document as an attachment - which I believe they may have trouble opening.

 

When a similar invitation is sent from our Exchange 2010 (on-premise) mailbox it comes out with more information:

There is still an ics attachment, but there is no need for them to open it.

 

This is most unsatisfactory - people are not going to open an attachment with no useful information in the message body.  There must be a workaround .........

We are currently piloting Office 365 hopefully leading to a wider rollout. Part of our environment is Exchange UM which works very nicely on premise. Office 365 UM is not bad either, but there have been problems reported.  Users very much rely on the Cisco phone MWI working correctly.  With Office 365 is generally works, but not always.  Sometimes the light does not go on when a message is left, or does not go off when it is played from the computer.  The success rate is about 80% (rough estimate). We have also got complaints from users who make use of the "Play on Phone" feature - apparently this works in less than 50% of tries.

 

We really do not know where to start troubleshooting these issues and so would like to know if they are common in other Office 365 installations.  We are aware the problem could be with Cisco Call Manager (though unlikely as it works fine with Exchange 2010), The Session Border Controllers put in for communication with o365, or the o365 servers themselves.  Where to start?

Hello,


I have a customer of mine who claims to be missing some e-mails from external users. I thought: "No problem - I will just search using Delievery reports". However it does not seem to work. 


I have tried to search within both ECP and Powershell, however without luck. 


I just get the following error:

I have been able to find forum threads back at '12 with the same issue. Is it possible that the same issue have not been fixed? What am I supposed to tell my clients - That I can't do anything, since I can't debug?

Exchange online mail flow rules

We are new to Office 365, and I am trying to apply a white list rule and enforced TLS rule to the mail flow in our Exchange online account. We have a long list of domains need to be add to these rules. The current web interface doesn't provide an option for me to import/upload a csv file to the rules that I created. Does anyone know if PowerShell can import a csv file into a mail flow rule?

Not recognized as a valid sender - iPhone issue

Hello

 

Suddenly (past 24h) my iPhone has stopped sending my Office 365 e-mails - it's ok with my Hotmail.  I get an error message saying 

 

Your message couldn't be delivered because you weren't recognized as a valid sender. Make sure your sending address is set up correctly and try to send the message again. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

E3 Office 365 Shared Calendar Intermittently Not Updating in Outlook 2010 and 2013

I have setup, (for others) the E3 Office 365 with success through 2013, but am finding new setups in 2014 are not allowing for shared calendars to update.  Shared calendars, which were working/updating still work.  New users added to existing setups, do not ... and new systems from scratch do not.

 

Note: Connection to the ECP is via the browser based GUI and the current available setup options.

 

The default permissions for each shared calendar's Read category is set to Full Details, which changes the definition to Reviewer.

 

All new users use Outlook 2013, (although some older systems are still on Outlook 2010, but with the same results) in a cached mode

 

The users to whom the calendar is to be shared are added individually with permissions as Reviewer.  The recipient of the shared calendar then establishes the connection to the shared calendar via Outlook's Open Calendar and selects the calendar via the Address Book.  The shared calendar populates, but does not update.

 

Note: Permission levels have been changed to Editor and Owner with the same results.

 

I now have multiple, (domains separate from each other's) E3 Office 365 systems experiencing the same scenario.  Although there are a variety of Internet based forums and dialog about shared calendars not updating, I have yet to find a resolve.  Your reply to this scenario is greatly appreciative.

Keep getting Undeliverable Messages

Hi

We recently setup Office 365 Small Business.

 

On the desktop we are running Outlook 2013.

 

The problem we getting is that when reply to mails we intermediately users are reporting that they are getting Undeliverable messages when reply to mails.

 

We have tried to recreate users profiles and this seams to resolve the issues for a few days but then the error come back.

 

The email will be sent back from:

System Administrator <IMCEASYSTEM-System+20Administrator@eurprd03.prod.outlook.com>

 

Subject will be:

"UNDELIVERABLE: Email title

 

Message will be:

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

Accounts
A problem occurred during the delivery of this message. Please try to resend the message later.

Problem downloading pst / previewing search results of an inactive mailbox.

Afternoon.

 

I am trying to search an inactive mailbox which was put on hold before the user was deleted.  In the case of this mailbox I get the following:

 

Estimate - works (find mailbox items an reports size)

Preview - fails (reports 0 items)

Copy - works

Download - fails - the below is shown in the error report

 

 

FailedToSearchMailboxes            

Export failed with error type: 'FailedToSearchMailboxes'. Message: Search failed because of unexpected error.

When users go on leave i need to preserve e-mail and unassign licenses

Hi

 

I have read a lot of stuff regarding this issue on the internet, but don't have any final answer so i will make a post here about it.

 

The problem i am facing is that i have 80 E3 licenses for my users and don't want to by more because we don't have more people than that at work on any given time.

 

However there are a lot of people who work for the company for a example a year, and then are gone / on leave for a year or a couple of years and then come back to work.

 

I need to unassign the license when these people leave to use for the people replacing them, and when they come back to work with us i need to reassing the license to them so they can continue working with all their old mail present.

 

The problem is however that if i do that - if i have understood it right - the e-mail will be deleted and when i assign the license again to the user 1-2 years later he will have no e-mail.

 

I have read that i can use "Litigation Hold" or "In-Place Hold", but not sure how to do this exactly. I would like to find a guide or something like that to do this.

It is crucial for the customer that the e-mail is not deleted when people stop working there.

Random addresses unable to send to Office 365 addresses

Hi,

We are currently having issues where a few of our clients on our internal hosted Exchange servers are unable to send to some addresses in domains that are on Office 365.

They are failing to go through to the Office 365 servers, which sends through delayed emails and then ultimately after 2 days, rejections for queue expired.

When we Telnet into the particular server that the hosts that domain, it gives a random message when trying to go through the mail functions and i enter in the sender address affected.
5.5.4 Unrecognized parameter
If I then enter another address, it goes Sender OK.

The weird thing is that 1 address in our domain seems to work fine, while 2 others keep getting this delay/rejection.

Any ideas? Is this an issue with Microsoft's servers?

Couldn't add a new member in my Group email.

Hi,

 

We are not able to add any new member to my group.

 

In the past I just go to People-->Groups-->Edit-->enter the email address (doesn't matter if their in my contacts or not) as I enter the email address, the member is added to the Group.

 

Now I could add only members in my contact list.

 

What Should I do to fix this?

Trying to open another mailbox

Hi,


I have a user who has full permissions to a shared mailbox.  She was opening it in her Outlook locally on her PC and still can, but we only want it to be opened via Office 365.  Everyone else who has access to opens the mailbox in a new tab no problem.  When she tries to open it, i just keeps her regular mailbox open.


I've doublechecked on forwarding and I can't find anything pointing to her regular mailbox.


Any ideas on what is causing this?



Email search doesn't show all results

 I have been having a difficulty when searching for specific emails. More specifically whenever i search for a mail that is older than December 2013 it won't come up in the search ( Although i can find it manually, scrolling down the whole inbox ).


It seems to be a problem similar to

It's been at least a month since i noticed this problem, so i guess automatic re-indexing (every week from what i've seen being written) doesn't work as it is supposed to.

delayed email on connected accounts

While I understand that connected accounts are synced every hour when OWA is not open, I am using Outlook 2013 for my mail on office 365. my connected account (configured in OWA) is only syncing email every hour which means i get email with a very significant delay in my Outlook 2013 inbox on my desktop.  Am I missing something in the configuration? the connected account is setup with IMAP.

EOP Quarantine on Android: Report as Not Spam - No certificates found

When a user on an Android phone uses the 'Report as Not Spam' link in the quarantine email, their browser loads and presents the following message:

No certificates found

[Browser] has requested a certificate. Agreeing to this request will allow the application to use this certificate with servers from now on. The requesting server has been recognized as na01-quarantine.dataservice.protection.outlook.com:443. Only agree to this request if you trust the application.

You an install certificates from PKCS#12 file, with a .pfx or a .p12 file extension, located on SD card.

When 'Install' is pressed it says "No Certificate Found" and when "Cancel" is pressed the page loads and (presumably) finishes reporting the email as not spam. In Chrome for Android there is a green padlock icon in the top left indicating that the security certificate is correct. This has been repeated on multiple phones and both the default 'Internet' browser and 'Chrome' browser with the same behavior.

This does not happen on desktop clients.
